The Trump administration has used the killing as a pretext to revive years-old plans to target left-wing groups they regard as being hostile to conservative views.

The prime minister delivered a Rosh Hashanah address to the IDF General Staff forum in Tel Aviv.

This comes as France and Saudi Arabia preside over a UNGA session centered around the recognition of a Palestinian state, with several Western countries recognizing a state.

The High Holy Days begin with Rosh Hashanah - the Jewish New Year - and continue through Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which ends at nightfall October 2.

"Russia should be in no doubt: NATO and Allies will employ... all necessary military and non-military tools to defend ourselves and deter all threats from all directions," the alliance said.

“Two democracies for two peoples” ought to be the rallying cry of our time.

The Israel Airports Authority, which helps manage the crossing, reported that the closure was “under the direction of the political echelon.” 

This comes after the IDF estimated that more than 600,000 residents had already left Gaza City.
